Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs has been awarded International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Certifications No. 9001/2008 in Management Systems and Quality; and No. 14001/2004 in Environmental Field. The certifications were given by global Lloyd's Register Group, one of the most distinguished providers of ISO certification worldwide.
This came in a meeting between H.E. DR. Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs and Mr. Basem Obaid, Lloyd's Regional Director, and accompanying delegation on the sideline of the Award Ceremony. The meeting was also attended by H.E. Tariq Hilal Lootah, Director-General; H.E. DR. Saeed Mohammed Al Ghafli, Executive Director of the Federal National Council Affairs; H.E. Sami Mohammed Bin Adai, CEO of Support Services.
During the meeting, H.E. DR. Gargash extended thanks and congratulations to the work team at the ministry for their remarkable efforts in planning, documenting the system and following up its execution. Such efforts has been crowned with getting this great award which in turn came as a result of team spirit that has been firmly established in the ministry's work approaches throughout this period.
"Getting the ISO Certifications is a real achievement of the ministry's strategic goal; to achieve institutional excellence through continuous improvement of all services provided by the ministry to internal and external clients, as well as upgrading performance by providing moral incentive and encouraging work conditions that stimulate positive competition and constructive cooperation in addition to enhancing excellence, innovation and quality, and dissemination of best management, professional practices and ensure the application of the most efficient methods in the ministry," the minister said.
H.E. added, “This certificate ensures carrying out tasks and duties of the ministry to the optimum and in high levels of quality, efficiency and professionalism, which will reflect positively on overall performance, thus securing a distinctive location on the map of excellence in the competitive race.”
H.E. Tariq Hilal Lootah, Director-General in the ministry, said that receiving the ISO certification in environment and quality is an assurance of the ministry’s diligent pursuant to achieve excellence in all fields, and is also another success to be added to its track-record.
He asserted that the ministry has, since its establishment, been keen to apply the best global standards and criteria in all work areas and adopting methods that achieve its strategic goal. By receiving this award, the ministry has successfully trodden the path of excellence; truly quoting the words of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai (The race to excellence has no finish line).
"From the beginning, we were accurate and objective in selecting our partners in our journey to excellence. One of the most important conditions was that the evaluating party must be neutral and credible, because we believe that the ultimate goal of the certification is to improve the outputs of the management process with positive reflection on staff and work teams of the ministry. Receiving the certification is only the culmination and documentation of such practices, which is one of the main requirements for the next stage being witnessed by the ministry to fulfill requirements of Sheikh Khalifa Award for Government Excellence.” Lootah Said.
Its worth mention that the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs is one of the first newly introduced ministries in the 8th Federal Government which received the certificate of conformity to international standards (ISO) awarded by International Organization for Standardization.
