Delegation from the Ministry of State for FNC Affairs Visits Thalassemia Centre at Dubai’s Latifa Hospital

18 July 2017

A delegation from the Ministry of State for Federal Council (FNC) Affairs visited the Thalassemia Centre at Dubai’s Latifa Hospital yesterday (July 17). The visit comes as a show of support on the part of the Ministry towards people infected with the disease; it also serves to spread optimism and promote social responsibility among its staff. “We, at the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs believe in social responsibility and strong communication with the community as values we try to instil in our employees,” said the Ministry’s Undersecretary His Excellency Tariq Hilal Lootah, who headed the delegation of directors, heads of departments and staffers from the Ministry. “This visit is one of many community initiatives that we have undertaken to promote volunteer work and community service, and to actively contribute to the UAE’s sustainable development,” H.E. Lootah added. “It is our way of bringing joy to people infected with Thalassemia. We were happy to see that the patients were well taken care of with advanced treatment services and attentive medical staff that keep a close eye on their health.” Earlier this year, the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs organised a blood donation drive at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The campaign – and yesterday’s visit – are part of the Ministry’s activities to support the Year of Giving 2017 initiative and World Thalassemia Day, as well as to promote positive values in society and give back to the community.
