The Ministry of Federal National Council Affairs and Watani have signed a memorandum of Understanding to enhance levels of cooperation and coordination to strengthen a culture of political participation in the UAE.

According to the MoU signed by His Excellency Tariq Hilal Lootah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs, and Mr. Dherar Belhoul, Director General of Watani, the two organisations will undertake a series of programmes and activities related to political empowerment, raise awareness of the empowerment programme launched by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE, and establish a culture of political participation and political awareness in the UAE.

“The signing of the MoU is aimed at integrating efforts and working with a common vision to create positive political awareness among all sectors of the society to support the process of political empowerment in the UAE. The Ministry is keen to strengthen the bonds of cooperation and communication with Watani, which is one of the leading entities focused on promoting the practices of good citizenship and community participation,” said His Excellency Tariq Hilal Lootah.

“The cooperation with the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs underlines our commitment to promote joint efforts to enhancing empowerment and a culture of political participation to achieve the vision of our wise leadership and the ministry’s strategy. The importance of such MoU is attributed to its goals and objectives in responding to the vision of the political leadership and the importance of educating young people on the values and practices of good citizenship,” said Dherar Belhoul.

Both parties will strengthen their cooperation to enhance communication and coordination in all areas to drive political awareness and a political participation in the UAE.
