The Ministry of State for Federal National Council (FNC) Affairs organised a workshop titled “Improving Job Satisfaction” to mark the International Day of Happiness and to promote happiness as a corporate culture in the UAE. Her Excellency Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, said: “Happiness and positivity in the workplace promote creativity and make for a harmonious work environment that fosters innovative strategies and increases productivity, thus fulfilling our leaders’ objectives of revolutionising the way governments work all around the world.” The Ministry is working to promote happiness in the workplace in order to improve job performance, as directed by the UAE’s leaders, H.E. Al Kaabi noted, adding that job satisfaction is one of the most important factors in motivating employees to be creative and work to the best of their abilities to the benefit of our country and its people.” During the workshop, Dr Salem Hassen Salem discussed the roles and functions of the UAE Government’s Happiness and Positivity Council. The workshop also tackled the subjects of the National Happiness and Positivity Charter, job satisfaction, the happiness of employees, corporate happiness and positivity indices, and happiness and positivity as a key to job satisfaction. The workshop discussed the necessary steps to spread happiness in the workplace, as well as international best practices in this domain and how to apply them. In addition to that, discussions explored such subjects as the ten stars in the era of happiness and the five stars in promoting happiness, as well as the role of happiness in improving job performance. The workshop also included entertainment and competitions related to the concepts of happiness and positivity.
