Emirati Women’s Day reflects a remarkable national journey, the foundations of which were laid by H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, ‘Mother of the Nation’, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation. With the continuous support of our wise leadership, Her Highness has been a driving force in advancing the aspirations of Emirati women, championing their empowerment, expanding their participation across all sectors, and strengthening their role in shaping national priorities and decision-making. Her enduring legacy is reflected in the achievements of Emirati women, who continue to contribute meaningfully to the development of their families, communities and nation, while emerging as influential leaders at regional and international levels.

The theme of this year’s Emirati Women’s Day, ‘We Emerge Stronger and Better,’ builds on this inspiring national journey. It reflects the confidence in Emirati women’s ability to retain their achievements and excellence across various sectors, especially in parliamentary work. Emirati women have marked a strong presence in the country’s parliamentary life through their active membership in the Federal National Council and their contributions to raising and discussing national issues and reflecting the aspirations of citizens. Their participation reflects the evolution of the UAE’s parliamentary experience and demonstrates how political empowerment of women has become an integral part of the Emirati model, established on the principles of equal opportunity, gender balance and enhanced participation in the UAE’s comprehensive development process.
