Abu Dhabi, May 31, 2020 – The Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs (MFNCA) has organised a widespread sterilisation campaign for all of its offices and facilities at its Abu Dhabi and Dubai headquarters, in addition to running medical checks for staff members to ensure their health and safety.
These measures are in line with the UAE Government’s decision to gradually return to working from offices, and as part of the Ministry’s commitment to complying with all nationwide precautions implemented to address the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), curb its spread, and eradicate the pathogen. The MFNCA exerted tremendous efforts to ensure the health and safety of its staff and provide a healthy, world-class work environment.
MFNCA Undersecretary His Excellency Tariq Hilal Lootah said: “The Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs is fully prepared to return to its facilities and serve the UAE and its people. Our employees’ health and safety are our utmost priority, and we are committed to taking all necessary precautions to ensure a happy and stimulating work environment. The Ministry has set innovative plans to cope with and adapt to any conditions and circumstances, in line with the decisions of the UAE Government to ensure business continuity.”
“We are working to gradually return to our offices and are closely monitoring any developments,” H.E. Lootah added. “All precautions and means of prevention have been implemented to ensure our staff’s health and safety, as well as guarantee uninterrupted, high-quality services for citizens, in line with the directives of our wise leadership.”
Ensuring health and safety has become a shared responsibility between individuals and the government, H.E. explained, noting that the MFNCA will continue to implement a remote work system for the categories designated in the UAE Government’s decision, all the while preparing for the post-COVID-19 phase.
H.E. Lootah applauded the Ministry’s teams for the flexibility they demonstrated in dealing with challenges, and their success in adapting with all situations. The MFNCA was recently able to renew three International Standardisation Organisation (ISO) certificates for Integrated Management Systems via videoconferencing technology, including ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
The Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs is in charge of coordinating between the government and the FNC, and of directing parliamentary efforts to meet the needs of the UAE and its people. The Ministry outlines scenarios to strengthen relations between the government and the Council, and oversees the implementation of cabinet decisions that relate to recommendations made by the FNC.
The MFNCA also monitors draft laws that have been issued, and submits topics to the cabinet that the Federal National Council would like to discuss. It also handles all preparations for government representatives attending FNC sessions, and supports the Council and its committees in their efforts to obtain data and information from various government entities.
