The Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs (MFNCA) is taking part in the fourth National Sports Day, which kicked off today (Thursday, March 7, 2019) under the slogan “The UAE Brings Us Together” with great turnout from government entities, private companies, and individuals around the UAE.

To mark the national initiative, launched in 2015 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, the Ministry organised sports activities to raise awareness around the importance of exercise and promote an active lifestyle among participants, in line with the initiative’s main objectives.

MFNCA staff members from Abu Dhabi and Dubai attended awareness workshops on the topic of sports, before moving on to walking, light exercise sessions, and athletic competitions among teams of employees.

In its current edition, National Sports Day reflects the values of the Year of Tolerance initiative, and embodies the UAE leadership’s commitment to ensuring the wellbeing of individuals and channelling their energy towards serving the wider public. This, in turn, embodies the cohesion among all segments of UAE society, and reflects the harmony among the various cultures that live side by side in the Emirates.
