Gargash: Government support enhances Federal National Council’s legislative and regulatory framework

His Excellency Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Federal National Council, said the support provided by the government to the Federal National Council will help enhance its legislative and regulatory framework, and this is reflected in the progress achieved in the overall development of the UAE.

His Excellency said in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the government has been supportive to the recommendations of the FNC. The Council represents one of the pillars of the empowerment programme launched by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to develop the political system in the UAE and enhance political participation, His Excellency added.

His Excellency praised the presence of the ministers at the FNC sessions, and their transparent responses to the questioned raised by FNC members, which showed the great cooperation between the legislative and executive bodies in the UAE.

His Excellency explained that the debate on the draft federal law for 2013 on amending some provisions of Federal Law No. (51) for the year 2006 on combating crimes of human trafficking, and establishing an International Centre of Excellence to combat violent extremism, was received with good responses and interests among FNC members and ministers, highlighting the integration and harmony of their visions.
