Lecture on ‘Political Participation and FNC Elections’ Sparks Interactive Dialogue at Al Ain’s Majlis Bakheet Suwaidan Al Nuaimi

The Majalis Affairs Office at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court organised a lecture on Political Participation and the Federal National Council (FNC) Elections in collaboration with the Ministry of State for FNC Affairs (MFNCA) at Majlis Bakheet Suwaidan Al Nuaimi in Al Ain.

The lecture featured Dr Mansoor Al Balooshi, who addressed an audience representing all segments of the community in Al Ain. The lecture witnessed an enthusiastic and interactive dialogue about the importance of promoting political participation and playing an active role in the Federal National Council elections.

“The journey to promoting political participation in the UAE took a significant leap forward with the Political Empowerment Programme, launched in 2005 by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE,” said Dr Al Balooshi. “The Programme optimised conditions for empowering citizens to become more active in their community, which, in turn, propelled the Federal National Council to an advanced stage where it is more effective and in tune with people’s issues and concerns.”

“The UAE’s wise leadership is committed to empowering the FNC and enhancing its role by promoting gradual political participation, which is key for ensuring the stability of the community and addressing its needs in a positive environment that promotes effective communication between the Council and the government,” he added.

“The FNC has established the UAE as a role model for maintaining direct communication with citizens from all segments of the community, and empowering them to voice their aspirations, concerns, and issues,” Dr Al Balooshi noted, asserting that participating in elections is a national duty, and commending the Ministry of State for FNC Affairs for its initiatives that seek to promote political participation in the UAE, and strengthen coordination between the legislative and executive branches of the government.

The lecture engaged the audience who interacted with the speaker, expressed their opinions, and underlined the importance of involving members of the community in the Ministry’s efforts, given their influence on their immediate social surroundings. Attendees asserted that the lecture enhanced their knowledge of the Political Empowerment Programme, and convinced them of the importance of participating in the upcoming FNC elections.

The session is part of a series of activities organised by the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs to promote political awareness and enhance communication with all segments of society. It also serves to achieve the Ministry’s vision and strategic objectives to build long-term national partnerships.
