
Abu Dhabi, 1 March 2024: The Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs (MFNCA) recently organised a training course titled “Applying Artificial Intelligence at Work” to enhance the values and practices of innovation in the workplace. The course aimed to increase the efficiency, skills, and capabilities of its employees, and to introduce them to the optimal use of artificial intelligence (AI) to drive performance, sustain excellence, and foster a culture of innovation. Additionally, the course aimed for the employees to benefit from the various applications of artificial intelligence in their work.
This course aims to familiarise employees with the future of work scenarios, particularly with the changes and developments brought about by AI technologies. The course will cover the tools and applications of AI in institutional work, highlighting key uses in service provision and other sectors. This course is part of the activities of the UAE Innovation Month 2024, “UAE Innovates”.
His Excellency Sami Mohammed bin Adi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector at the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs (MFNCA), emphasised the Ministry’s commitment to aligning with the UAE government’s vision by effectively harnessing innovation and embedding it as a fundamental principle within work environments that foster excellence and enhance performance. He said, “Introducing modern technologies and teaching employees how to use artificial intelligence are crucial in enhancing the skills and capabilities of the Ministry’s staff, enabling them to provide top-notch services and maintain the Ministry’s achievements in fulfilling its roles and responsibilities.”
The training course covered various topics related to the introduction of artificial intelligence and innovation. It included the most recent advancements in AI applications, elucidated the fundamental tools and techniques employed in AI applications, and showcased their practical application across diverse fields.
During the review process, several sub-themes were discussed, including the future of jobs and AI, the ethics surrounding AI, and how AI can impact jobs in the future. Additionally, the technologies that could be utilised by the Ministry to enhance the skills and competencies of all employees were identified. The course was designed to cater to all job categories within the Ministry and included interactive and competitive offers, as well as hands-on workshops. This will help improve the practical skills of the employees who participate in the course and provide them with opportunities to exchange ideas and experiences on how to effectively implement artificial intelligence in the Ministry’s work environment.
