24 October 2016

The Ministry of Federal National Council (FNC) Affairs organised a workshop themed “Corporate Happiness and Happy Employees”, as part of its efforts to promote the concept of corporate happiness and positivity among employees. The workshop – which was attended by Her Excellency Noura bint Mohammad Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, and which featured Dr. Khalifa Mahrazi as keynote speaker – sought to define what a happy work environment is, as well as identify initiatives that could help instil such a culture. What is more, the workshop explored several related topics, including indices to measure happiness and positivity; factors that encourage or inhibit happiness in the workplace; the positive effect of happiness on job performance; and ways by which an employee can be happy at work, such as dedicating time for happiness- and positivity-focused activities. “Happiness and positivity in the workplace are the cornerstone of the Ministry’s strategy and a catalyst for it to achieve its objectives,” said H.E. Noura Al Kaabi. “These goals require teamwork and innovation to come up with ideas and initiatives that enable the Ministry to carry out its responsibilities that stand to benefit all citizens, as well as society as a whole.” H.E. Al Kaabi went on to explain that the Ministry is implementing the directives of the wise leadership of the UAE to develop the skillsets of the national workforce and provide them with the necessary resources to excel in the workplace, adding that happiness is a key factor in motivating employees to utilise their energy and creativity to play a part in turning the UAE into a global role model in terms of government work. Accompanying H.E Noura Al Kaabi at the workshop were His Excellency Dr. Saeed Mohammad Al Ghafli, Assistant Undersecretary for Federal National Council Affairs in the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs; and His Excellency Sami Bin Adi, Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services Sector; as well as heads of departments and employees from the Ministry.
